Current & Up-and-Comings at the Dusty Flowerpot Cabaret
EXTRA! EXTRA!
The SCARLET QUEEN OF MERCY, a 1955 musical extravaganza written and directed by Kat Single-Dain, opened to audiences at the iconic Russian Hall in May 2015. Staged on the set of an eponymous movie, immersed in a marvelous technicolor world, the show featured vintage chorus lines, 1950's film gear, musical direction from hearthrob crooner Jack Garton, and stunning original songs from Patrick Kearns and Karly Warkentin. The audience, dressed to the nines in the style of the times, played an integral role contributing to the environment and participating in the action. Behind all this razzle-dazzle, the making of a film - the big comeback of troubled auteur Arthur Goudy, who pushes his crew and actors to the brink. Coming in 2016, this film, the fruits of this event, will be screened at the Rio Theatre in Vancouver, and on Salt Spring Island. Stay tuned for more information!

A Look Back at the Year that Was!
The PARADE OF LOST SOULS was again a tremendous success this past year, with over 250 performers and artists, and an estimated 10,000+ parade goers adorned in the most creative and creepy wears. In 2015, the parade was for the tricksters, embracing the unexpected and finding our collective freedom in a celebration of mythology's most infamous tricksters. It was also a return to the parade's roots, shifting the parade route back through the alleys of East Vancouver with the community's involvement in staging the event. Stay tuned, for the Parade of Lost Souls will return again this coming autumn.
A new monthly tradition, honouring the "Cabaret" in our name.
